Storm Dance Alliance offers a wide variety of dance classes and styles that are guaranteed to get you moving. No matter what your age, your skill level or whether you have danced before or not, we have a class to help get you started. Storm Dance Alliance has been voted a Top 10 dance studio in the midwest. Our teachers and our curriculum will establish a strong dance foundation and build your confidence to help you achieve your goals.

ACADEMY PROGRAM CLASSES
Bitty Classes
Mini Classes
Classes are for mini level dancers ages 3-4 years old. All classes are 45 minutes in length and meet one time per week. Dancers may enroll in more than one class.
Mini Ballet and Jazz Combo • 45 minutes
Mini Ballet & Jazz blends the grace of ballet with the energy of jazz. Dancers learn basic steps like pliés, jumps, kicks, and turns while building strength, coordination, and confidence in a fun, supportive setting.
Mini Ballet and Tap Combo • 45 minutes
Mini Hip Hop Stars • 45 minutes
Mini Hip Hop Stars is a high-energy class where young dancers explore rhythm, movement, and self-expression through fun hip hop steps and upbeat music. It builds coordination, confidence, and a love for dance in a playful, supportive setting.
Mini Acrobatics • 45 minutes
Mini Acro is a fun, energetic intro to acrobatics where young dancers build strength, flexibility, and coordination through rolls, stretches, and balance exercises. It’s a playful way to develop motor skills and confidence in a safe, supportive setting.
Mini Pom and Cheer • 45 minutes
Mini Pom & Cheer is a fun, high-energy intro to cheerleading and pom dance. Dancers learn simple cheers, chants, jumps, and moves while building coordination, rhythm, teamwork, and confidence in a playful, supportive environment.
Mini Jazz N Tumble • 45 minutes
Mini Jazz & Tumble is a lively combo class blending upbeat jazz dance with basic tumbling. Dancers learn kicks, turns, rolls, and stretches while building strength, coordination, and confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
Petite Classes
Classes are for petite level dancers ages 5-6 years old. All classes are 60 minutes in length and meet one time per week. Dancers may enroll in more than one class.
Petite Acrobatics • 60 minutes
Petite Acro is a fun, dynamic intro to acrobatics where dancers learn rolls, cartwheels, stretches, and balance skills and more. The class builds strength, coordination, and confidence through playful, age-appropriate movement in a safe, supportive space.
Petite Ballet and Tap • 60 minutes
Petite Ballet & Tap introduces young dancers to the grace of ballet and the rhythm of tap. Dancers learn basic steps and movements while building coordination, balance, and creativity in a fun, supportive environment.
Petite Ballet and Jazz • 60 minutes

This upbeat class combines the sharp, energetic movements of pom with the spirit and enthusiasm of cheerleading! Dancers will learn basic cheer motions, jumps, chants, and pom dance routines while building teamwork, confidence, and coordination. Perfect for high-energy kids who love to move, cheer, and shine!
Petite Contemporary • 60 minutes
A creative and expressive class designed for young dancers to explore emotion and storytelling through movement. Petite Contemporary blends ballet and jazz foundations with fluid, lyrical choreography, helping dancers build technique, musicality, and artistic expression in a supportive environment.
Petite Hip Hop • 45 minutes
A high-energy class just for young dancers, focusing on fun, rhythm, and confidence! Petite Hip Hop introduces age-appropriate moves and combos set to kid-friendly music, helping dancers build coordination, style, and groove—all while having a blast.

Ballet Pre-Teen • 60 minutes
Ballet Pre-Teen builds on foundational ballet skills with barre and center work, including pirouettes, jumps, and leaps. The class focuses on technique, alignment, musicality, and expression—perfect for pre-teens ready to grow in their ballet training.
Jazz Pre-Teen • 60 minutes
Jazz Pre-Teen refines jazz technique with footwork, turns, jumps, and isolations. Dancers build strength, control, and musicality while exploring jazz styles and expressing themselves through choreography.
Hip Hop Pre-Teen • 60 minutes
Hip Hop Pre-Teen challenges dancers with sharp isolations, footwork, and dynamic combos. Students explore styles like popping and locking while building precision, rhythm, and confidence through expressive choreography.
Contemporary Pre-Teen • 60 minutes
Contemporary Pre-Teen blends modern, jazz, and ballet to develop expressive, fluid movement. Dancers focus on storytelling, technique, and artistry through floor work, jumps, and choreography—perfect for growing creativity and style.
Stretch and Technique Pre-Teen• 60 minutes
Stretch & Technique Pre-Teen builds flexibility, strength, and basic dance skills through stretching, posture, balance, turns, and leaps. It’s a supportive class perfect for dancers looking for more advanced training.
Acrobatics Pre-Teen • 60 minutes
Acrobatic Pre-Teen is for dancers ready to advance their acro skills. Students progress to moves like backbends, walkovers, and aerials, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and control. Emphasizing technique and safety, the class develops timing, coordination, and fluidity, blending acrobatics into creative combos. It’s ideal for dancers aiming to challenge themselves and prepare for advanced training. Rookie level class also available.
Tap Pre-Teen • 60 minutes
This high-energy class focuses on rhythm, coordination, and footwork. Dancers learn basic steps, combos, and intricate patterns with an emphasis on timing and musicality. Combining technical training and fun choreography, it helps develop balance, agility, and creativity. Suitable for dancers with tap experience.
Musical Theater Preteen • 45 minutes
Musical Theater Junior combines singing and dancing to build performance skills. Students learn basic songs and choreography while developing confidence, teamwork, and creativity in a fun, energetic setting—perfect for young musical theater beginners.
Turns, Leaps, Tricks Pre-Teen • 45 minutes
This class is for dancers ready to refine more advanced turns and controlled leaps such as grand jetés and saut de chat. Focus is on strength, flexibility, coordination, timing, and precise technique. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves, build confidence, and improve performance quality with grace and power.
Pointe Preparation Training Class • 30 minutes
This class prepares young dancers for pointe work by building the strength, flexibility, and technique needed for a safe transition into pointe shoes. Students strengthen feet, ankles, calves, and legs while improving balance, alignment, and foot articulation. They also practice foundational pointe skills like proper placement and demi-pointe work to develop control and confidence. This class ensures dancers are physically and technically ready for pointe training and helps prevent injury.
Pointe Beginning • 45 minutes • Director Approval Required
For dancers ready to start pointe work after pre-pointe training, this class focuses on developing safe, effective pointe skills. Students work on alignment, foot articulation, and maintaining strength in feet, ankles, and legs. The class includes barre exercises and simple combinations to build balance, control, coordination, and confidence. Emphasizing safety and proper technique, it offers a supportive environment for a gradual transition into advanced pointe training.
PBT Progressive Ballet Technique Preteen Training • 45 minutes
A fun and focused class designed to help young dancers build strength, flexibility, and core stability using ballet-based conditioning techniques. This class enhances body awareness and technique to support safe and effective dance training.
Flexibility Class Preteen• 30 minutes
This class improves range of motion and overall flexibility through targeted stretching. Dancers focus on hips, legs, back, and shoulders to enhance strength, mobility, and control. It’s perfect for safely boosting flexibility, preventing injury, and enhancing dance performance.
Teen Classes
Ballet Teen • 60 minutes
This class helps teen dancers build strength, flexibility, and technique while deepening their love for ballet. Students focus on foundational movements, posture, and coordination, progressing to advanced skills like pirouettes and allegro. Designed for those with prior ballet experience, it offers a supportive space to challenge and express themselves through dance.
Jazz Teen • 60 minutes
This energetic class builds strength, flexibility, and coordination through warm-ups, exercises, and choreography in styles like contemporary, Broadway, and lyrical jazz. Teens develop rhythm, body isolations, improvisation, and personal style in a fun, dynamic setting. Suitable for dancers with prior jazz experience.
Tap Teen Advanced • 60 minutes
This high-energy class focuses on rhythm, coordination, and footwork. Teens learn advanced steps, combos, and intricate patterns with an emphasis on timing and musicality. Combining technical training and fun choreography, it helps develop balance, agility, and creativity. Suitable for dancers with tap experience.
Hip Hop Teen • 60 minutes
A high-energy class blending street styles like popping, locking, and breaking with modern music. Focuses on strength, rhythm, and coordination through freestyle and choreography. Teens build confidence, express their style, and stay current with hip hop trends.
Contemporary Teen • 60 minutes
This class blends modern, jazz, and ballet for expressive, fluid movement. Focusing on storytelling, creativity, and technique, dancers build strength, flexibility, and coordination while exploring floor work and jumps. It encourages self-expression and artistic growth, perfect for teens eager to expand their dance skills.
Acrobatics Teen-Level• 60 minutes
This high-energy class combines gymnastics and dance, focusing on flexibility, strength, and balance. Teens learn tumbling, handstands, backbends, and aerial tricks with an emphasis on safe technique and progression. It builds confidence and enhances dance with acrobatic skills. Beginner through advanced are available.
Flexibility Class Teen• 45 minutes

Emphasizing control, alignment, safety, and artistry, this class helps dancers build confidence and refine their pointe skills.
Pointe Advanced • 45 minutes • Director Approval Required
An advanced pointe class is for experienced dancers ready for complex movements and choreography. It focuses on refining strength, balance, precision, and technique through advanced exercises like intricate pirouettes and leaps. Emphasizing artistry, stamina, and control, this class challenges dancers to perform pointe with skill and grace.
Pre-Professional/Company Classes

PRE-PROFESSIONAL BALLET
Our pre-professional ballet classes focus on advanced barre work, center exercises, across-the-floor combinations, ballet variations and can contain pointe work. Students accepted into the pre-professional program commit to several ballet classes per week and focused training to develop strength, proper placement, advanced lines and artistry. Dancers should have a strong foundation in ballet technique.
JAZZ
Pre-Professional Jazz Class will focus on exploration of precision dancing, strength, flexibility, and technique, while developing texturized movements, mastering advanced jumps, leaps, turns, challenging choreography, and stylized progressions. Class will include a full warm-up and conditioning, center work, across the floor combinations, and choreography each week. Proper terminology will be utilized in classes.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL HIP HOP
Hip Hop at the pre-professional level will focus on commercial dance preparation. Students will explore different tempos of movement, textures, and increasingly challenging combinations, choreography, and tricks. Advanced understanding of texture and levels will be an important part of this class.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL TAP
Pre-Professional Tap classes are for students who have a more extensive knowledge of tap vocabulary and skills. Students are introduced to more difficult concepts in musicality, improvisation, more complex combinations, use of space and more challenging choreography. Basic and intermediate level tap skills should be mastered, and more advanced skills will develop speed, clarity, and sound. Students will begin to delve deeper into the creation of sound by manipulating timing and tempo with music. The curriculum in the pre-professional class is preparatory for collegiate programs and auditions.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL STRETCH & TECHNIQUE
Pre-Professional stretch and technique class focuses on advanced strength, flexibility, body alignment, lines, leaps, challenging turns, and so much more. This is an advanced class, and dancers will need to have a solid foundation in ballet and dance technique. Weight change, balletic transitions, and combinations of skills will be an important part of the curriculum. No choreography is taught in this class, only technical components of dance. Class will not perform in the spring recital.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL TURNS LEAPS TRICKS
Advanced turns, leaps, tricks class is a wonderful addition to any dancer’s class schedule to focus on specific skills and tricks they would like to improve upon. Pirouettes, turns in second, advanced jumps, needle turns, and more will be covered in class.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL ACROBATICS
Pre-Professional and Advanced Acrobatics teaches increased strength, balance, flexibility, and tumbling. Tumbling skills include but are not limited to walkovers, limbers, handsprings, cartwheels/round offs, handstands, and more. In more advanced acrobatics, additional skills such as back handsprings, back tucks, layouts, aerial cartwheels, front aerials, and much more will be introduced into the curriculum.
Adult Classes

ADULT HIP HOP & CARDIO
Whether you’re looking to pick up a few new dance moves, get some exercise, meet new people or just have fun, we’ve got it the best class for you! Each class starts with a warm-up filled with moving, grooving, stretching and light conditioning guaranteed to get your heart pounding. Each week a new combination will be taught to the latest fun and upbeat music, mixed with some old school jams. Please wear comfortable clothes and clean gym shoes.
ADULT TAP CLASS
Tappers will work through the basics and get comfortable with the terms, steps, and technique of a beginning tapper. Steps will be put together into tap combinations and progressions that will increase in difficulty as the class learns more tap skills. Please wear comfortable dance attire such as yoga pants, sweats, t-shirts, tank tops, etc. and tap shoes.
ADULT BALLET CLASS
Our Adult Ballet class is a gentle fitness class that will focus on posture, along with strengthening and stretching the muscles through basic barre and center work exercises. This class will allow you to enjoy the beauty of movement while improving your health and well-being! We will study the basics of ballet and improve balance, coordination, and flexibility as we laugh and learn together. Please wear comfortable attire and ballet shoes. Leotards, skirts, and tights are welcome but are not required.
