Storm Dance Alliance is an elite dance studio located in Chicago’s western suburb of Oswego. We have dedicated ourselves to providing the best possible dance education for all Storm students whether they choose our Academy or Company program . With our award-winning choreographers and instructors, we strive to reach, teach, and inspire each student to achieve their fullest potential. Classes are available for all levels of students, from beginner to pre-professional, as well as adult classes and are taught in a warm and supportive environment.

We offer instructional training classes in the genres of Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Tap, Pom, Acrobatics, Technique Only Classes, and so more. In addition to classes, we also have competition companies, holiday and seasonal productions, and music lessons. There is so much to choose from when you choose to become a part of the Storm Family.
Whether you are a new to dance, an academy dancer or an experienced dancer striving to become a professional, you will be able to find all of the support you need to help you grow and excel.

Brook and Tim Langkan opened Storm Dance Alliance in 2003. For over 20 years, Storm has become a force in the dance community and is now one of the western suburb’s elite dance centers for both instructional and pre-professional training
Brook Langkan, a lifelong dancer and educator has worked tirelessly to assemble a team of award-winning choreographers and industry leading instructors to teach and nurture young talent in the pursuit of excellence. Tim has been a tremendous support as a business operations expert and lifelong support to Brook and the studio.
With Brook’s creativity and Tim’s unrelenting drive, this duo has created the model for a successful dance studio and provided a wonderful environment that breeds both the positive environment, growth, and confidence every young student needs. Their hard work and dedication were awarded in 2010 when Storm won the Federation of Dance Competition’s Studio Excellence Award and also in 2011 where Storm finished in the top 25 studios in the Midwest, bringing home 7 national championships. Since that time, Storm has won countless top studio awards, National titles, and has sent students to train and perform all over the world. Many Storm Alumni are now professional dancers, choreographers, doctors, lawyers, and successful adults, wonderful parents, and so much more.
Storm Dance Alliance is incredibly proud of our Academy Program, which educates our non-competitive dancers, and the personalized attention they receive in our training program developed especially for their unique needs. Two levels of competitive programs have been developed to challenge and serve the competitive and pre-professional dancers that have made Storm their home. Brook and Tim pride themselves on creating the warm, family feeling that is the heart of our studio. Storm has become a second home for their students, creating relationships and bonds thru dance and teamwork that last a lifetime.
For over 20 years, the Storm Faculty have been captivating audiences with a true Storm family tradition, the Nutcracker Ballet. Utilizing the talents of Storm and community dancers to help deliver the season’s most heartwarming rendition of the classic story, the cast has grown to over 200 dancers participating in the amazing show each season. As community and family is first and foremost in our mission, Brook also created our Holiday Charity Showcase, which benefits our neediest local families each Christmas Season. It is a beloved event that all of our Storm Students perform in.
We are incredibly proud of the amazing place Storm has become over the many years and look forward to creating many more memories with the beautiful dancers and families that share this amazing space with us.
